Bytowa is a left tributary of Słupia with the total length of only 29 km. It runs through Bytowskie Lake District. There are many activities on offer as far as this section is concerned. Residues bed regulation and building of a hydroelectric power station, water thresholds, road bridge pillars made from pine stumps, which was previously used for obtaining resin - these are just some of the interesting facts concerning the waters of Bytowa.
The river is not difficult, but you have to deal with a number of short and not troublesome episodes of carrying the kayaks over fallen trees.
For first kilometers the river runs rather lazily among the meadows. On entering the forest it expands and becomes shallow, forcing to seek the current, bypassing shoals and protruding stones. Here you will encounter a few stone rapids and water thresholds, after which you can continue kayaking and they certainly spice up the whole expedition. On this section Bytowa is suitable for those who completed only 2-3 kayaking trips.
